Tony Rapista is a vice president in the California public finance group of Piper Sandler and operates out of the firm’s Los Angeles location in El Segundo, California. Rapista's experience encompasses general obligation bonds, lease revenue/COPs, tax increment, special tax/assessment district, MFMR, TRANs, water/sewer utility and harbor/port financings for California, Hawaii, Nevada and Government of Guam issuers.

His responsibilities include quantitative analysis, financial modeling and bond sizing, cash flow analysis, and evaluating alternative debt structures. He facilitates all aspects of the bond transaction execution including finance and disclosure documentation review, soliciting and securing credit agency ratings and credit enhancement commitments, pricing and coordinating closings.

Prior to joining Piper Sandler in 2010, Rapista spent 16 years at a leading West Coast brokerage firm where he specialized in managing municipal bond portfolios for high net worth clients as well as providing credit analysis and municipal security selection in the tactical bond portfolios of the firm’s investment advisory group.

Rapista received a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Irvine. He is also a member of the California Society of Municipal Finance Officers.
