William Hickey is a managing director in the financial services group at Piper
Sandler.
Previously, he was a principal at Sandler O’Neill + Partners, L.P., where he was
responsible for providing merger & acquisition and general strategic planning
advice for community banks nationwide. Sandler O’Neill regularly ranked among the
top advisors to community banks, with Hickey spearheading this effort.
Over the last 20 years, Hickey has been one of the most active merger advisors to
financial institutions and has built a substantial experience base for valuations and
structure, on which many in the industry have come to rely. He has advised clients
on a variety of transactions, including buy side, sell side, capital raising and
divestitures. Hickey has worked extensively with both domestic and foreign financial
institutions.
Hickey was one of the founders of the Investment Banking Group, which now
numbers over 150 professionals in New York, Chicago, Atlanta and San Francisco.
